Jawahar Goel

Jawahar Goel, Head of Business, dishtv, has been instrumental in pioneering the direct-to-home (DTH) service in India and establishing the company as a prominent brand with India’s most modern and advanced technological infrastructure.

Goel has also been actively involved in the creation and expansion of the Essel Group. He started his career working in the food processing and trading operations of the Essel Group of Companies in 1971. He conceived, successfully installed and commissioned Essel World, India's largest theme park. From 1990-1994, he was responsible for the export operations of Rama Associates Ltd and Essel Industries Ltd.

Goel is the President of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, which takes up various issues relating to the broadcasting industry at various forums. He is an active member on the board of various committees set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India which takes care of several critical matters relating to the industry.

Goel has been closely associated with the Agroha Vikas Trust for a decade now, along with various other social organisations that run hospitals, colleges, schools and temples for the needy.
