Dish TV launches Zing Digital - a customized Tamil DTH brand to cater to the unique needs of Tamil viewers
Dish TV, Asia's largest direct-to-home service provider, has always been a frontrunner in development with its path-breaking innovative initiatives. In 2003, when Dish TV, launched India's first DTH service, not many people were aware about this technology and how it would change their lives completely. Now, a decade later, Dish TV today has again announced the launch of "Zing", an exciting New Brand which has been specially conceptualized and customized keeping in mind the preferences of its Tamil viewers that are moving over to the digital platform.
The TV viewing needs of Tamil viewers are very different as compared to the rest of India. No other DTH player till now has been able to cater to these unique needs in a 360 degree manner, bringing the truly local, state specific and even language specific touch to make it a truly memorable viewing experience.Â
Zing, the second brand from the house of DishTV, has been formulated, after much deliberation and market study. Our inferences threw up the key channels that this region consumes and that has been the center of our strategy. The core philosophy ofÂ theÂ brand is the regional language entertainment (Tamil in this case), unlike Hindi or English, which is standard among all other brands, thus, making it truly custom made brand for each region.
After successfully launching Zing in seven states across India, we have now launched Zing in TN, which is our gift to Tamil viewers, offering 49 Tamil channels and services (Depending on the pack). Over all 145+ channels at an unbelievable price of Rs.99 per month in base pack are available, making it available at almost the same price as the cable. Our offerings are not limited to providing regional channels only, the customer will also be provided with a dedicated Tamil speaking call center and local dealers will be empowered to solve all their issues, thus making it a seamless service.
