Mumbai FC started their season on a great note as the team made a winning return to the Mumbai District Football Association - Elite division. The boys came back from a goal down to beat opponents Union Bank Of India. Midfielder Cletus Paul was twice on target but was later sent off for a rash foul. Taiskue Matsugae, Malemnganba Mettei, Karan Sawhney were all on the score sheet for the first win of the season.

There were more reasons for joy for the first team and their fans as they demolished Central Railway in their second game of the season. Wingers Alan Dias and Steven Dias particularly were in some mood as they created havoc in the opposition defense.

Mumbai controlled most of the game with fluent passing. New signings Sandesh Gadkari and Malem proved their worth with the first two goals. Right at the stroke of half time, Mumbai talisman, the Japanese Samurai Taisuke Matsugae scored a brilliant goal with a lone run and finish from the midfield.

But it was new signing Eric Brown who stole the show with a superb thunderbolt from beyond the 30 yard box. Mumbai boy Karan Sawhney wrapped up the party with a superb finish from a Malem cross in the 87th minute.

Mumbai FC now have 6 points from their first two games in the Elite division and next play PIFA Colaba on November 6th  2015.

Be there at Cooperage to cheer for Mumbai!
