Ekonkar completes 500 episodes on Zee Punjabi

Giving Punjabi viewers an enlightened perspective of Sikhism and its true values, 'Ek Onkaar' - India's first of its kind devotional-Live-TV-show completed 500 episodes (13th October 2011) on Zee Punjabi.

Launched on June 1, 2011 this 2 hours devotional show is anchored by renowned celebrity Gurpreet Singh, who has played a lead role in Punjabi Film 'Baba Banda Singh Bahadar'.

Telecast between 5 AM to 7 AM, daily, the show has become very popular among Punjabi audience across the globe and received accolades and appreciations from various religious groups and Sikh Institutions so far.

Teaming up with great Sikh religious event 'Hola Mohalla' at Anandpur sahib added more viewers to Ekonkar across the country. It provided a rich religious and spiritual treat for viewers as they watched the true character of this great Sikh Festival 'Live' on Zee Punjabi through Ekonkar only.  

Bringing in limelight the life and contribution of Sikh women who played important role in the Sikh history is another initiative by 'Ekonkar'.

The 500th episode of 'Ekonkar' is dedicated to 'Mata Tripta Ji' - the Mother of first Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji and was telecast live from Sultan Pur Lodhi in Distt Kapurthala, the place Guru Nanak Dev ji lived at before setting out on his famous travels to deliver his message around the world.
