Essel Vision bags 4 Awards at PIFF, Pune

Maintaining its excellent pace, Essel Vision's films pennon their victory in Maharashtra state's official film festival, Pune International Film Festival (PIFF 2015). After the record success of four films being selected for Indian panorama at IFFI 2014 Goa, PIFF also featured three films Dr. Prakash Baba Amte, KIlla and Elizabeth Ekadashi. PIFF is headed by Dr. Jabbar Patel and had an international jury that included celebrated Polish Director Krzysztof Zanussi, Kiran Nagarkar, Fernando Colombo, Marco Simon Puccioni, Marcel Gisler, Dr. Helmut Grochup, Peter Twiehaus and Nandita Sen. Continuing its winning spree, Essel bagged four awards. Best Cinematography to Amol Gole for Elizabeth Ekadashi, Special jury mention for Dr. Prakash Baba Amte and a fabulous tie between KIlla and Elizabeth Ekadashi for The Best Film award.

Previously both the films have done well in many festivals. Killa, Avinash Arun's directorial debut film produced by Jar Pictures and presented by Essel Vision had won Crystal Bear for the best film at the 64th Berlin Film Festival. Paresh Mokashi's Elizabeth Ekadashi was the Opening Film of Indian Panorama at IFFI, 2014. Both the films incidentally explore nostalgic portrayals of childhood, dwelling in memories and yet have different worlds altogether.  It is very important to nurture good cinema and especially good cinema for children. Accomplishing this crucial task of attaining a balance between commercial cinema and cinema of good taste, Essel Vision has turned out to be one of the key players in the progressive cinema movement in the Marathi Film Industry.
