SAP to steer Essel Group’s progress
The Essel Group will adopt SAP as the ‘platform of choice’ to help accelerate its business growth. This will enable the Group to generate more revenues and facilitate productivity gains across the organisation.
With this, the corporate IT team headed by Manoj Gupta aims at providing secure strategic computing platforms, best-of-the-breed business applications and state-of-the-art infrastructure to various businesses of the Group.
The adoption of SAP will enable effective decision making within the business entities as well as the Group; effective globalisation of the organisation; adoption of the best processes; and innovation across all businesses.
“We have a strategic vision for the Media and Entertainment industry and are aggressively taking the group on a path of transformation to change the fundamentals of the industry. In this journey of transformation, SAP is a natural choice for us,” said Chairman Subhash Chandra.
Bill McDermott, President and CEO, SAP Americas & Asia Pacific Japan added, “As we move forward, I would like to reaffirm the SAP commitment to the Essel Group’s success.”
The media and entertainment industry has undergone radical transformations in recent years. Diversifying strategy to reach out to the target audience in a digital world is now a critical priority. SAP’s media solution, with its strong understanding of media business process, helps address these new challenges. It allows media companies to generate new business while improving organisational efficiency.
The selection of SAP’s media solution is a culmination of a detailed due diligence exercise carried by a cross-functional team across the Essel Group. The evaluation process demonstrated a unique collaboration of business and IT teams from ZEEL, WWIL, Dish TV, E-City and Veria among others.
The sourcing team led by Vikas Sarangdhar supported by Swaroop Keskar ensured that a commercially attractive deal was negotiated for the group with SAP. The implementation is closely monitored by the Group HR Director
