He was instrumental in negotiating various double-tax avoidance treaties on behalf of the Government.

He has an experience of 12 years in various capacities in the field of finance, corporate restructuring, strategic business planning, accountancy and taxation. He has worked as a Chief Financial Officer of Pan India Paryatan Limited and has controlled the operations of the amusement park Essel World and the water park Water Kingdom for more than seven years. He is currently the Vice-President Finance, Essel Group. Goel is also on the Board of Wire and Wireless (India) Limited, Buddha Films Limited, Digital Media Convergence Limited and Premier Finance and Trading Co. Ltd.
