ItzCash conducts second Financial Inclusion and Digital Payment Conference

ItzCash in association with IAMAI conducted the second Financial Inclusion and Digital Payment Conference. The grand event was conducted on August 21 at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, Mumbai.

The inaugural session was on the vision for digital payments for next five years and role of digital payments in financial inclusion wherein the welcome address was given by Navin Surya, Chairman Online Payment Committee and Managing Director ItzCash Card Limited. The Chief Guest for the inaugural session was Shri G Gopalakrishna, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India who enlightened the dignitaries with regards to regulations in the prepaid payment industry and other initiatives to be undertaken by them.

The day had power pack sessions such as Prepaid Payment Instruments: Implementation and Challenges, Mobile Payments Delivery Model for India, Digital Payment Systems - International Perspective, Retail Payment System Roadmap for Creating a Robust Retail Payment System wherein knowledge was shared by eminent personalities from the Banking, Telecom, Payments, Technology and various other sectors of the country.

The speakers were both from the domestic as well as the international arena. A perspective on the international digital payment systems was well crafted by Marilyn Bochicchio, Chief Executive Officer, Paybefore. The session ended with the industry czars stressing on creating a roadmap for robust retail payment system covering challenges and way forward for achieving RBI's vision of Safe Sound Secure and Efficient Payment and Settlement Systems, kind of retail payment system required in India for cashless environment.
