Kidzee partners with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to organise National Deworming Day drive in Hyderabad
Kidzee, the largest network of pre-school chain in Asia partners with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for its initiative on National Deworming Day (NDD) in Hyderabad. The NDD program aims at giving treatment for parasitic intestinal worms to the children between the age group of 1-19 years in the region. As part of this partnership, a vaccination drive was conducted in 23 Kidzee centers spread across Hyderabad on August 17, 2016. Over 1000 children got benefitted from this open to all drive.
Kidzee is the first pre-school chain to be associated with this initiative in Hyderabad. Kidzee being the forerunner in private pre-school category with its presence in 550 cities, is a gratifying choice for this partnership in Hyderabad. NDD's goal is to cover 90% of children under the program, which is only achievable via private sector's involvement.
"We aim to cover at least 90% of all children through the National Deworming Day program and this is only possible with the support from everyone, we are glad that Kidzee is a part of this drive. Reducing the threat of parasitic worm infection is a critical challenge for the nation. We encouraged all the children of age group 1 to 19 years who have not taken deworming tablets (Albendazol) to please take it on the MOP Up Day of National Deworming day." National Deworming Day is a ground-breaking initiative focusing on reducing the threat of parasitic worm infections, a widespread health issue affecting over 241 million children in India. After successfully deworming 89.8 million children in government/ government aided schools and anganwadi centers during the first NDD implementation drive in Feb 2015, the program is now expanding and is encouraged to include to private education sector.
