ICL 20:20 event kicks off on Nov 30

The Indian Cricket League's 20:20 Indian Championship tournament kicks off on November 30 in Chandigarh with the Delhi Jets taking on the Chandigarh Lions.

The tournament will have 20 matches  - 15 league matches where the six teams will play each other once, followed by five classification matches, including a 'Super Sunday' on December 16 where the grand final preceded by the third-fourth place deciding matches will take place.

"We are working hard to deliver an exciting tournament for Indian viewers. I am confident that the public in this country will witness for the first time a fully professionally run and organised
extravaganza of cricket," stated Kapil Dev, Chairman, Executive-Board, ICL.

The ICL teams are Delhi Jets, Kolkata Tigers, Mumbai Champs, Chandigarh Lions, Hyderabad Heroes, Channai Stars. Some of the international players who have joined ICL include Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat, Lance Klusener and Nicky Boje. The Indian players include Dinesh Mongia, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, JP Yadav, Deep Dasgupta, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, T Kumaran and U19 captain Ambati Rayudu, all of who have represented India in the past.
