Mumbai FC to conduct trials for its U 19 team

Mumbai FC is set to conduct trials for its U 19 team to participate in the U 19 I-League and MFL – Elite Division matches.

The U 19 I-League is an annual tournament held in India for I-League Clubs and Football academies. The prestigious tournament brings talent from across India which becomes the feeding system for the senior teams.

Mumbai Youth teams Coach Naushad Moosa, will oversee the trials being held at the Don Bosco School Grounds, Borivali (West).

The Mumbai U 19 team would also represent the club in other national and local age group tournaments. The clubs recruitment policy is in line with its vision of grooming players for the senior team. As promised last year by Coach Naushad Moosa 5 players Rohit Mirza, Neeraj Sharma, Tushar Poojary, Jayesh Rane and Rolfred Countinho who were part of the U 19 squad last season have qualified and have been promoted to the Mumbai FC senior team.

Coach Moosa says, “We are excited at the prospects of players like Neeraj and Rohit. I see another 4 to 5 players getting promoted this season. We wish that more players come to the fore for us to groom them into top quality players who would go on to play for our club and country.”
