Essel Infra bags sports city project

Essel Infraprojects Ltd has bagged a Rs 1,200 crore project in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, for the development of a Sports City along with a Township.

The latest addition to Essel Infraprojects kitty is a Rs 1,200 crore project in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The project will be developed over 172 acres with 50 acres earmarked for Sports City development like cricket / football stadium, tennis courts, indoor stadium and sports academies on the lines of Dubai Sports City and Singapore Sports City.  The remaining 122 acres will be earmarked for real estate development including a nine hole golf course with villas, five star hotels, shopping malls and residential bungalows / apartments.

The Sports Authority of MP had called for bids and prequalified six infrastructure companies including Essel Infraprojects Limited for a concession period of 99 years. The Concession Agreement with government was signed on September 10, 2008.

The project to be completed in three years will be the first of its kind in India.
