Zee Café takes the Green Turn

“I, from this day forward, promise to care for this sapling, to water it and protect it from all harm. I am taking a green turn. This is my contribution for a greener earth.”

That’s the Green Oath you will have to take if you want Zee Café to gift you a young sapling on 5th June, World Environment Day.

At youth hangouts across the city including Candies, Pot Pourri, The Crepe Station Outlets in Juhu and Pali Hill, Joss, Monza at Phoenix Mills and Chopstix (Churchgate) amongst others, Zee Café welcomes citizens of Mumbai to take home a sapling and care for it. Zee Café’s drive promoting the adoption of saplings by its viewers is part of a larger movement, ‘The Green Turn’ that the English TV channel wishes to kick-start in India. ‘The Green Turn’ is an endeavour to awaken a sense of “Lemme do my bit to save the earth” in the minds of today’s urban youth.

Zee Café aims to take environmental consciousness to the next level through this new property that will be promoted on air through break bumpers and endorsements by celebrities who support the cause, on road and online through an interesting ‘green’ microsite on the Zee Café Home page, www.CaféCrazee.com.

Adding excitement to the launch of the initiative, the channel has managed to rope in the cast and crew of the forthcoming Riteish Deshmukh-Ayesha Takia-Aftab Shivdasani starrer ‘De Taali’ to take the Green Turn and support their movement. So don’t be surprised if you see Riteish and Ayesha hugging trees rather than dancing around them!

between 1 PM and 8 PM on 5th June
and bring home a sapling that you will care for!
