Zee Kannada is No 2 channel

Last week brought some cheer to Zee Kannada as it reached the No 2 position, unsettling ETV Kannada. Zee Kannada with its 296 GRPs for Week 33, beat ETV Kannada by a margin of 21 GRPs. 

Having narrowed the margin over the last few weeks, Zee Kannada has now taken over ETV Kannada. Its relative share also grew to 13 per cent, over ETV Kannada’s 12 per cent. 

Zee Kannada is also among the top five channels in terms of absolute shares in the market over the last four weeks.

A strong Independence Day programme line-up, backed by good on-air promos and marketing was the key to this milestone. Apart from special programmes for special days, the popular show ‘Komedy Kilaadigalu’ in its revamped form opened at 2.5 TVR, maintaining an average TVR of 2 through the week. The new series of ‘Gunagaana’ maintained an average TVR of 1.45 with one of the episodes recording 2.38 TVR. The new astrology show ‘Daarideepa’ has also done its bit.
