And our very own Delhi-bred Kunal Nayyar, who plays Rajesh Koothrappali on the show, is the latest Indian face to make waves on American Television.

A l’il about the Show: Airing every Thursday at 10 PM on Zee Café, The Big Bang Theory is a comedy about two young scientists who're brilliant but socially awkward. Life changes when a beautiful, popular girl with average intellect moves in next door. The series follows the young geeks and their group of nerdy friends as they begin to develop a soft corner for the young lady, wooing her in their own unique hilarious ways.

Who is Rajesh Koothrappali? Kunal Nayyar's 'Rajesh Koothrappali' is a genius. His area of expertise is Astrophysics. He is painfully shy around women and is unable to speak with them. Alcohol appears to suppress his social anxiety and he has prolonged conversations with women after drinking. An experimental anti-anxiety drug enables him to talk freely to women, but has side effects on his motor controls and mannerisms.

A li’l more on Kunal: As an actor, Kunal Nayyar's role in The Big Bang Theory is his first on a mainstream television sitcom. He previously played a guest role as a terrorist in NCIS, an American Police procedural TV series. Always a performer, Nayyar began acting in musicals and plays at a young age. He was born in London and spent most of his younger years growing up in New Delhi. After finishing school, he left India for the United States where he majored in Business and took several acting courses. Recently, Nayyar teamed up with fellow Indian Oroon Das, to write the critically acclaimed play, "Cotton Candy" which is still running in New Delhi. Nayyar currently resides in Los Angeles and is writing his first feature film.
