Roy Family from Kolkata crowned as the first Airtel Rock N Roll Family

Indore, 12th June, 2008 - India’s largest media and entertainment conglomerate, Zee Entertainment Enterprizes flagship channel Zee TV is proud to announce the winner its first Airtel Rock N Roll Family, Roy Family from Kolkata. In an intense, nerve-racking finish, Roy Family was voted the winner by lakhs of viewers from across the nation over the other two equally capable opponents.

Speaking on the finale Mr. Tarun Mehra, Zee TV business head said, “In the run of reality shows featuring stars or trained professionals, we tried something different and in the process made these families into a star in their own right. The channel gave them a platform to come together, unite and perform as a team. All the three finalists were excellent. I am sure it was a very difficult decision for the judges and viewers too. I congratulate all the families of for their remarkable contribution to the show. I wish them all the very best.”

The mega finale took place in Indore where the three finalists, the Roy’s, the Bhalke’s and the Saxena Family gave a stupendous performance and made it an event to remember. Our much esteemed judges Ajay Devgan, Kajol and Tanuja along with Tanisha were there to witness who out of the chosen three would finally win the coveted title of “Airtel Rock N Roll Family” and also win a cash prize of Rs.50 lacs.

A show of such format was attempted for the very first time on Indian television and a total of 12 families participated in the competition. It was one show where teamwork and family spirit played a greater role than individual performances.
