Record viewership of 22.9 million for Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Grand Finale - Zee TV registers all-ro

January 29, 2009 - As per latest figures of TAM, Zee TV registered an improvement of 13 per cent in its GRP's in the fourth week of 2009. We share some highlights with you.

As many as 34 programmes of Zee TV figured in the list of Top 100 programmes across GEC, as against 32 of Star Plus and 29 programmes of Colors.

Zee TV's new serial Choti Bahu has steadily improved its TVR week after week. Chhoti Bahu is now not only the slot leader at 7:30pm but also the no 5 show across entire GEC with the third highest time spent in the range of Balika Vadhu & Bidayi.

Zee TV's Grand Finale of the popular musical reality show, Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009, which was telecast live from Gateway of India on 24th January 2009 notched a whopping 4.9 TVRs with 21.9% reach making a record 22.92 Million viewers. aMap figures for the event also corroborate this mammoth viewership. The final episode surpassed the performance of most other popularly watched shows aired on entertainment channels. Acccording to Mr. Punit Goenka, CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the longest running music talent show on Indian television, has redefined reality programming by capitulating it to a new altitude. Holding the finale at the Gateway was our way of telling the world that the spirit of India is unshakable. The show received a boost from the Government of Maharashtra who made the finale a part of their 'Saptarang' cultural festival.
