'Stand Up Take Action': a Zee News initiative
Zee News with United Nations' Millennium Development Goals Campaign has taken up the initiative to eradicate extreme poverty and its root causes.
The poverty crisis and inequality in India has reached unbelievable heights. There is a need for the people of India to acknowledge the fact that for the country to develop each and every citizen of the country needs to progress and prosper. It is time for the people of this country to put their foot down.
It is time to STAND UP and MAKE A NOISE against poverty.
Various celebrities Gulzar, Sunidhi Chauhan, A.R. Rehman, Ranbir Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Yuvraj Singh and Sonu Nigam have joined hands with this campaign to give their whole hearted support for the cause.
Being the country's leading media organization, Zee News has decided to become the medium to create awareness about the alarming condition of poverty in the country. This campaign is aimed at encouraging people to participate in a common act and to ensure widespread participation, urging everybody to think of creative ways to make noise and join hands in this very important cause.
Nation wide ground activities have been organized in several major cities of India by our partner NGO's to involve the common man in this Campaign.
A concert with hundred percussion and string musicians has been organized at Purana Qila, New Delhi. A spectacular symphony of sound, ending in a crescendo with every audience member 'making a noise' against poverty will be covered exclusively by Zee News.
