Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman 2011 - Honouring the extraordinary
Zee 24 Taas, the first 24-hour Marathi news channel of India, took great pride in felicitating the real heroes of Maharashtra through its unique platform 'Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman', which not only gives due recognition to the un-sung heroes who have considerably contributed in their sphere of work but also gives an encouragement to many other people to follow the suit. These are the people who have done great deal of work in their fields but still go un-recognized and stayed away from limelight.« Back
Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman 2011 had gone to one step ahead in finding such people who represent the real Maharashtra. Maharashtra which lies in villages, Maharashtra which still needs the basic infrastructure like schools, Maharashtra which is still gripped in old customs.
This edition of 'Sanman' was an attempt to make people aware of such facts and work together to make better Maharashtra.
Shri Chaggan Bhujbal, Minister of Public Works and Special Assistance Department was the Chief Guest of the evening and Mr. Punit Goenka, Managing Director, Zee News Limited, graced the occasion with key note address.
The recipients of these honors were felicitated by personalities like; Sunil Tatkare (Minister for Water Resources), Mr. Girish Kuber (Editor Loksatta), Mr. Sadashiv Amrapurkar (Actor), Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar and Mr. Kiran More, Ex Air Chief Marshall P V Naik, Dr. Tatyarao Lahane (Padmashree awaredee Eye Surgeon).
Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman 2011 held on 2nd March 2012, 7 p.m. at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai witnessed the presence of celebrities, dignitaries and audience of the channel in vast numbers.
The fourth year of Ananya Sanman was also a continued effort for carrying forward the tradition of 'Sanman' and honoring the extraordinary. There were seven different categories that had been chosen and unsung heroes from respective fields were honored. These were;
Ms. Amirbi Shaikh for Education (She has been running a school for sex workers in Sangli),
Mr. Surendra Salvi for Films (A wig-maker who has been serving the industry for more than 25 years)
Mr. Pramod Chandurkar for Sports (An Archery coach and pioneer of bringing archery equipments in India, has coached 'Limbaram'- Asian Games gold medalist)
Mr. Namdev Kursunge for Bravery (A Forest employee who lost his one eye in a fight with a wild beer while patrolling in the forest of Gondiya district)
Mr. Manav Kamble for Social Service (A social worker from Pune, who is running a vocational training center for poor & physically challenged children of the society, he himself is physically challenged with both legs disabled permanently)
Mr. Sandeep Girase for Farming (A farmer from Vidharbha, encouraged other farmers to produce milk, formed a 'Nilay Dairy' which is benefitting hundreds of farmers in the region)
Mr. Hanbar Deshmukh from Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI) for Environment (An NGO, serving as an instrument of sustainable rural development through the application of scientific and technological knowledge)
Beside these 7 awardees in un-sung categories, there was also a life time achievement honor to a legendary person given to the veteran actor couple of Marathi and Hindi cinema Mr. Ramesh Deo and Mrs. Seema Deo.
Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman was hosted in association with Loksatta, Tata Sumo Gold, Ideal e-live, and Rambandhu Masale were the associate sponsors whereas TJSB Sahkari Bank Ltd. was the official banker for the event.
The event will be telecast on Saturday - 10th March at 6 p.m. and Sunday - 11th March at 9 p.m. only on Zee 24 Taas.
