 Zee News bags New York Festival Award


The recently concluded New York Festival on International Television Programming and Promotion honoured the team behind India's most trusted Hindi News channel, Zee News. The channel bagged the prestigious New York Festival Award for its program 'Zara Sochiye' under the Community Service Programs category. In addition, Zee News was also honoured with the 'finalist certificate' for its Brand TVC in the News Promotion category and for the programme promo of 'Zara Sochiye' in the Best Public Affairs Programme category.

Embarking on the journey of educating and informing its viewers, Zee News introduced 'Zara Sochiye' to fulfil the role of a socially responsible channel by presenting news and policy related issues with an analytical angle. Combining field reportage, with studio discussions with renowned experts, 'Zara Sochiye' explores topics like - Food Crisis in India, Female Infanticide, Government Reforms, Electoral Reforms, Criminalisation of Politics and various other issues related to civil society.

The New York Festival Awards recognise "The World's Best Work" in news, documentary, information and entertainment programming as well as in music videos, infomercials, promotion spots, openings and ID's. The TV Programming and Promotion entries were assessed by several hundred producers, directors, writers and other media professionals from around the globe. All entries were judged on-line by panels of industry experts from 32 countries around the world.
