ZEE partners with University of Mumbai's 'Rashtriya Maharang Parishad 2014'

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) partnered with the University of Mumbai's Academy of Theatre Arts for the 'Rashtriya Maharang Parishad 2014' which was a resounding success. Held over three days at various venues within the picturesque Kalina Campus, the festival was attended by theatre lovers from across the country.

Theatre aficionados got the opportunity to listen to veterans like Dr. Jabbar Patel, Mahesh Dattani, Usha Ganguli, M.K. Raina, Neelam Mansingh, Tripurari Sharma discussing the various aspects of theatre like 'Training in Theatre,' 'Death of the Playwright' and 'Contemporary Theatre.' They were also able to interact with the theatre makers in informal open sessions held at the Rangakutis (Hubs.)

Eminent directors and actors like Vijaya Mehta, Rajinder Nath and Amol Palekar held Master classes in which they shared their insights and experiences gained over the years. The audience also witnessed masterful performances by B. Jayshree and Himani Shivpuri as well as entertaining folk dances, tamasha, lavani, mimes and street plays.

In the evenings, at the ongoing 7th Rashtriya Vasant Natyotsav, audiences enjoyed plays such 'Macbeth' and 'When We Dead Awaken' directed by Ratan Thiyam, 'Sangeet Garv Nirman' directed by Hrishikesh Joshi and 'Chaya Shakuntalam' directed by Kavalam Narayana Panicker.
